Norrabees Project

Norrabees Project: Unlocking Africa’s Premier Lithium Potential

The Norrabees Project represents a unique opportunity to develop one of Africa’s largest untapped hard rock lithium deposits. Located in the Namaqua Natal Belt, this project is poised to become a cornerstone of the global lithium supply chain, thanks to its strategic location, substantial resources, and Cape Lithium’s innovative approach to development.

Exceptional Resource Potential

  • Extensive Pegmatite Field: Over 100 mapped lithium-bearing pegmatites have been identified across the Norrabees I and Norrabees II extensions. These formations present excellent drilling targets, with pegmatites ranging from 300 to 840 meters in length and widths between 18 and 47 meters.
  • Visible Surface Mineralization: Lithium-bearing spodumene crystals occur at surface, allowing for easier extraction and reduced development costs. With mineralized zones extending 20-30 meters above the surface, Norrabees is ideal for near-term production.

Strategic Development Plan

Cape Lithium is taking a phased approach to developing Norrabees, starting with the processing of existing stockpiles and gradually scaling up to full production.

  • Phase 1: Initial production of a 4.1% spodumene concentrate through low-cost processing of -10mm material.
  • Phase 2: Upgrading to a 5.5% spodumene concentrate by processing finer material.
  • Phase 3: Full-scale production of 6% spodumene concentrate through advanced Dense Media Separation (DMS) techniques.

Scalability and Growth

Ongoing exploration at Norrabees continues to uncover additional extensions, further enhancing the project’s potential scale. The simplistic geology of the pegmatites and metallurgical properties make Norrabees an ideal candidate for efficient, scalable lithium production.
